I can’t believe this, but next month will be FOUR YEARS that I will be in business as a DJ and MC in Southern California. It’s been a wild ride to say the least. If anyone knows my story, you’ll know that I started my business when I had a sudden change in my work life. And despite that and it’s challenges, I’ve been at it ever since. I had no idea how hard it is (as a sole proprietor) to be seen in a market that is flooded with so many people that do what I do. But then you have exchanges like this that make it all worthwhile:
You see, there are bigger companies out there. Ones with dedicated prospecting staff, multiple DJs at their disposal, the financial wiggle room to offer cut rate pricing, and are in possession of tools that can dominate Internet searches. The only thing I have in my arsenal is my commitment to service. It’s providing my custom approach to my clients at a speed that demonstrates that I care . And when they’re happy enough to leave a review, it allows other couples to see what this “little company than could” can do for others.
So I’m grateful for any time a client tells me that I made their day special. Like I always say, “if your day is important to you, it’s important to me.”
