Much like three years ago, when the alma mater gives you a call, you pick up the phone.
Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to be a part of Flagler College’s “Flagler Forward Initiative.” The school is in a midst of a large fundraising drive (of which was already 85% funded) and the school wanted to have a gala to show important stakeholders about the progress
The phone call? It was to ask me to HOST the thing.
Well, of course I did.
But the whole experience was cool. I’ve done hosting gigs before, but to be able see your name at the VIP table..
Plus. Being in town for the week, I was able to run around St. Augustine and do some of the touristy things I didn’t do when I lived here.
And lastly, I got to visit my old stomping grounds (though the building isn’t old at all any more) WFCF and hang out with Dan McCook, who was my advisor when I went. I stayed behind and answered questions from current students about advancing their careers.
Either way, it was an absolute trip. So glad I was able to help out my old college when I can.
