Certified.

Well, this was a nice surpise.

Over the past few weeks, I have been able to officially register my company, Knew Amsterdam Entertainment as a certified minority-owned business. While I’ve been told by my contemporaries that this would open the business to future opportunities, I am proud for a whole other reason.

When the email came saying my application was approved, I took a moment to reflect on when Knew Amsterdam Entertainment launched in 2017. Starting my own business came from an act of desperation, after I had been let go from my job that fall. Fast forward the better part of a decade and now the brand survives and thrives among some of the greats.

I feel like that parent who has the young kid that made the honor roll. It’s beautiful.

Thanks to everyone over the years that helped me build and refine. Hopefully there’s more to come.
